There are often Xantia height correctors on ebay, so does anybody really know if they are interchangeable with the XM ones? Or are their dimensions not exactly the same (although they look identical). Or are their settings different (e.g. internal springs' strenght to set delay in valve opening) so they would make another car behave funilly?

I'd love to know this myself. From what I can see the ball joint lever on the end diaphragm
is the only difference with some I have kept as spares and this unbolts with a 8mm nut. Andrew |

Like Andrew, I too kept a couple as spares from a GS that I scrapped some years ago; they looked identical to the XM ones. Thinking logically, as they are all doing the same job in the same way, why would Citroen tool up to make them different?

From the bits I've done I'd say yes (Xantia/XM) but the plastic dog bones are a different length only a little but it makes a big difference when fitted.

I think C5/6s have gone all electric in their height system so they can do the clever different ride heights at different speeds thing. Up to Xantia/XM I wouldn't be surprised though. -------------------- 94M XM 2.5 TD VSX Estate RP 6430 Forest Green

I'm pretty sure you're right there. There was an article in Citroenian, Citroen replaced most of the pipe work with electronics on the C5.

Yes, the C5 has no height correctors anymore as we know them. There are 2 valves, electrically controlled, one for each axis, that seat in the "integrated hydraulic block" with the pump (electric motor) and ecu, in the engine bay. The reliability of this system was awful in the C5s. Pumps and fuses that burnt just because you put the car in lowest, and then u need to replace the whole "block" for £700. Hope they get things right in the next one, sure they will.
