If you stick to one model you can have coordinated plates, my three are: N451YBL, N469YBL and N471YBL, I used to own N497YBL and that was blue, a colour I dont have now! mad.gif biggrin.gif

I know what you mean Andrew, i get very attached to cars and never want to sell them, they eventually do go but a few of ours wont ever be sold.

I can imagine its difficult having so many though, there is no way you can keep them all on the road and going, however nice it maybe. A lot of the older cars you have will be very very desirable to a lot of people. I hope there is a time when Activas are equally desirable, im not sure if i can see it happening, if it does will there be many around in a few years, not at the rate they are disappearing! sad.gif

So i like what your doing, its great to be preserving the Activas, as long as you keep them in semi running condition and not to deteriorate. Hopefully if Activas do become a more sought after car you might be able to pass some of them onto deserving owners. If not, your going to be having a few nice looking garden ornaments for a while cool.gif

I cant recall seeing one activa on the road, other than a red one which used to live in the town when we had ours, ive never noticed another.

I like private plates, especially car related plates, not so keen on initials and certainly not ones with misplaced letters etc. I have a private plate on my Seat, means nothing at all to me but its quite fitting to the car and it’s got 2 letters less than the original plate.

On the subject of private plates I was looking for A24 VXM, but cant get it as the numbers only go up to 20 on the A prefix... I did find a A12 VXM....

So possibly the A 12v XM could go on my green V6, but will have to find something else for my 24v...

My father always fancied A1 UFO for his DTR2 CX Safari estate but someone else beat him to
the draw. I think the A24 VXM was probably issued and is very likely to have been scrapped now!

I don't actively go out and buy cherished numbers - the one my father had was a treat he
bought himself on retiring from DVLA and FAB 16S is on a GS 1220 Pallas and A6TVA came
like that on the Activa too! Most of these numbers only mean something to the driver and
are usually lost on everyone else so not really making much of a statement.

I'd rather spend £300-600 on a car rather than a number for one! Yet saying that, I'm fine with
my sister Caz having a CAZ number on her cars as everyone who knows her calls her by that!
I bought a VSX Xantia with a CAZ number for little money just so she could have it fitted to her
new black C4. Ended up with a very rare early series VSX 2.0i 16v Xantia!

Peter, your MOT, insurance and roadtax paperwork must be a nightmare to keep on top of if
you're not sharp eyed!! biggrin.gif I only manage to differentiate between mine by calling them either
by their reg number or the 'red one' etc etc

Where the addiction started!

Talking about Gs elsewhere on the forum got me digging out my old photos! I say old,
as anything pre digital camera is positively ancient and full of graininess and transfer
hassles to get anywhere near a computer, but I persevered to share with those who've
never seen a GS!! huh.gif

My first car!! Yep, earned enough dosh to travel from Swansea to Bridgwater buying the
car blind other than a grainy picture in the Bargain cars section of AutoTrader!! The owner
of EFJ522T was a bit of a chilled out hippy and asked me if I was a Citroen lover as she
wanted me to give it a good home, should have known and run away quick smart before
the totally fab little buzzbox totally won me over.

The buzz from that turbine engine that seemed to rev up to silly heights and with grip
and handling that felt like a go-cart; remember, I'd learnt to drive in a duff old Rover 200
and the G was indeed a revelation and a yardstick that everything else was then compared
and trounced by. I was happy but had a secret hankering for a GSA that had been drooled
over parked with a FOR SALE at a local garage repairer where nobody ever seemed to work!!
It was the weird bluey purple metallic that REALLY appealed to a carnut art student! biggrin.gif

Yes, the dent in the driver's wing was my still green driving awareness of the corner
extremities when reversing! rolleyes.gif

Yep, mine and I was still in college when I then thought it was a good idea to buy another
Gs and 2x CX's. Before my first job I had already accumulated 5 Citroens and the Cx's
weren't just any old Cx's but a LHD 2.4 GTi and a 2.4 C-matic Prestige!! Wahay

I really didn't stand any chance of choosing any old boring alternative manufacturer at
this stage and that's pretty much where I still find myself today! biggrin.gif

I had GS addiction soo bad that another x2 1972 1220's were bought from the heart of
France. One was collected on a trailer and the second was delivered in a batch of 2CV's
to Frome2CV - you just can't even make this stuff up!!

Forgot to mention. As it seemed to everyone else I told at the time as an amazingly daft thing
to do, the following week's AutoTrader featured EFJ's advert fully replicated on the cover bigger
with a headline along the lines of "The selling power of AutoTrader" Seller X sold her car the
first weekend to the first caller, a buyer who travelled xx miles all the way from Swansea etc etc..
laugh.gif rolleyes.gif cool.gif

I've not changed my ways even with an allegedly wiser head and more experience! laugh.gif laugh.gif
In fact, I think I've got worse! tongue.gif

Being very soppy and sentimental about inanimate cold chunks of metal, it pains me to see
the pictures of HDE, EFJ and OOO as they've all long gone now as I'd love to have had another go
at sorting their ailments out now I've got a MIG and the experience - I've stubbornly held onto
pretty much everything else that's come my way since; I have to compensate for my loss! wink.gif laugh.gif

Thanks for the positive words on OHR Dean, I have it mentally tabbed as one of my bestest
of all favourites!! ph34r.gif

Ive just read through all of your recent posts, very good read, keep them coming! biggrin.gif

I too love the look of your OHR and indeed the safari - what a fantastic colour! How many of the cpictured cars have you still got?

My dad was exactly the same as you, although on a smaller scale it seems. He has had countless Gs, GSAs one or two bought new. He also did the Amis, 2cvs, dyanes etc, Infact one of my earliest memories was in the Yellow Acadiane Mixter we used to have as a family fun about.

Sadly we have not kept any of them, how we wish we had kept certain ones, the CX TRS, the DS Familiale etc.

Your collection is exceleent, i want to see more pictures of your current stock cool.gif

I think your best one so far is the red S2 GTi, that looks superb. cool.gif

I had a ride in a GS for the first time a few months ago, such a great car, the ride is fantastic, much like the CX, a lot softer than any Xm is, of which ive been in many, and many Cxs too, but never a GS until then.

Keep your story going ....

Dammit, this is not helping me. I can't tell you how badly I want a GSA now. I'm concerned that when I eventually come collecting a CX from you, Andrew, that I'll find myself putting my name down for others too......
