Sitting here thinking about my first Cx having found the first pictures I took of it nearly 20 years
ago!! That says something for the car and Cx's generally! They can make that much of an impact
on you.

It's originally a Belgian Cx 2.4 GTi manual in Swordfish grey metallic (LHD) imported in 1989 and
already saved once from being scrapped by the previous owner who replaced a whole rear 1/4
panel!

I still have it today not significantly any worse for wear from when I bought it but sure it needs a
new bonnet and a bit of attention to the top of the fan/closing panel after I ran into the rear end
of a Peugeot 405 writing it off (the stupid things you do when you're young... rolleyes.gif mellow.gif)
It hasn't been used recently with all the other distractions, though I have plans to have it for
another 20 years so the nose WILL be straightened...

At the very least you need to try driving a Cx - the steering is truly remarkable!

I'll get some pictures of my 24v'er and the other daily drivers sometime if it actually improves
in the weather (if ever!)

Andrew

Fancy a holiday in Normandy?
Save an amazing car and have a holiday at the same time:

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Citroën-CX-2500-GTI-...1QQcmdZViewItem

Only requires new rear pipes - 2 days' work and £60 if you DIY and it's just
the trailering home. Guess you could repair the pipes there first and drive it...

So, what are you waiting for Sam?

wonder if i could tempt the girl friend into a trip to france **scratches chin**

the engine will be changed in my V8 Discovery this weekend, so would be the perfect chance to run the new lump in.

Bet the ferry with a 16 foot flat bed trailer won't be cheap either though wink.gif

Andrew, if you ever decide to sell your GTi Turbo 2 give me a shout, I'd love one of them!

David.

A CX is on my shopping list. I might even have some money after this month too, even if I DO buy an AX. Just don't forget me when you start shifting CX's Andy....

Despite my best efforts to try and find an alternative storage area for some of the Cits the sad
reality is that some will go.

In some cases they've been sat waiting for the life threatening job that saw them off the road
in the first place - to the point where the replacement parts have been sought/bought ready for
the repair job. If I hadn't had to continuously expend time and energy moving them from storage
area to area in a totally unhelpful use of my free time in the past 2 years I'd have sorted many
of them. mad.gif

I'll let everyone here know about anything that's available if they fancy something unusual like
a Cx or even Xm shaped.

Must be fun making sure you've got the right set of keys/plip for whichever one you want to drive today. I have enough trouble just with 2, especially if I end up carrying both sets.
