I've seen this for sale a number of times over the last twelve months. This must be a re-listing as I'm sure that word for word it's the same as the last time it appeared on the bay...

Wonder why its being resold so much, something up with it?

Looks tidy enough there, and we all know how rare the V estates are, strange one wacko.gif

I think the same seller has listed three times on ebay now - perhaps they've just been mucked around by winning bidders? Was sold last year by an owner in Sussex. I'm fairly sure the asking price then was £500. Here's the ad from the time...

Must admit to being tempted too, esp when I was having the hydraulic nightmares when it was last on flea-bay, but living London way meant it was too far to go check out. Estate would be handy sometimes, if I could get the extra rear seat kit too.

Since I've got mine sorted for now, and having a recent new clutch, not sure as, it'd likely need the clutch doing soon if it hasn't already been done. Looks Ok though.

Dave

Agreed. Before my 2.1TD unexpectedly popped up relatively locally, I was fully anticipating having to buy one across the water, then fly over and drive it home.
To be honest though if you're sure you're going to buy it, I really don't mind the travelling. Perfect excuse to have a trip in your new purchase anyway smile.gif

Peter.N.

well I did go to Scarboro to buy the current V6, so yes, but it is a bit far to just pop over to check out and see if I'm really interested....

Actually Andy, think it was you that pointed it out on XM-L when it came up on ebay a few years back, was worth the trip though smile.gif

I'll bet the recent clutch job on yours still leaves a bit of a sour taste in the mouth!!
I was curling my toes reading the story as it panned out. You deserve a medal!!

When buying a SH Cit on ebay there's nearly always a big bill waiting round the
corner to mug you just when you think you've got the brakes and spheres sorted
to your satisfaction. Not so much Sod's Law, as Cit's Law! You have have to roll
with the punches.

I think if you want something THAT MUCH a 'trifling' 600mile round trip should be seen
as a mini excursion where you snap out of the usual grind and see a bit of this place!!
On my travels over the years I've seen some great places and met some amazing folk;
it's probably been one factor in how I've managed to accumulate so many of the
damned things. I love the thrill of the chase...

Andrew

I look at it this way Andy...

Bought it unseen with 50K miles, new clutch at 96K miles and it was reliable up to that point and was used as my daily drive on a consultancy job often travelling 2-3K miles/month, so was well worth the £450 smile.gif

2007 wasn't a good year, but hey, I think I've largely got it sorted now and it's still my daily drive. All the reliability issues have been down to poor garage works sad.gif

Was tempted by the estate for the potential of the jump seats in the back, and also to get back on the road with some reliability when mine was having it's nightmares. Thinking a bit more though and I don't need the extra seats that much, and mine's going fine again for now so urgency's kinda gone.

I had thoughts to buy the estate and sell the hatch, but then again, I know my car well and with the repairs done, I'd not recoup the expense incurred and who knows what will need doing on the estate... clutch in the not-to-distant future no doubt.... unsure.gif

regards
Dave

Know exactly where you're coming from. A car on the road is worth three in the barn!!

Mind, I keep seeing a set of extra estate seats for the back on ebay. I'm sure if you're
thorough with your search it'll pop up. You could get this set and keep it handy for the
day when the right estate drops on your lap...
