S2 Replacing Trip Comp Backlight

Hi Guys.

Must be my week for minor electrics --- Half the backlight has gone out on the trip computer display. So -- to save me breaking something, what's the drill please for removing the panel far enough to access the bulbs ? Also, are they the same bulbs as the back of the aircon control panel ?

Hi Mike

The good news is they all take the same bulbs in their twist lock holders.
Do you mean the trip milage on the speedo or the LH Dash display?
With the speedo panel out you can get at all the bulbs from the back.
With the LH display you have to get it out, remove the rear cover, then pull off the rear microprocessor board (push fit 28 pin SIL(single-in-line) connector) which gives you easy access to the two bulb holders.
