Folks,

One of my return hoses has split (my fault – a long story).

It’s got a green line along the outer, but I’ve not been able to get a spec. for it. I’ve just cut it short for now and bodged it back on with cable ties.

Be advised that mine are quite hard and tending towards brittle, with cracks appearing on the outer. The car is a ’97 2.5. They appear to need a lot of slack to avoid stressing the area where they connect with the pipe back to the reservoir.

Is this standard stuff from a factor, available from Pleiades, or Citroen Wierdo Revenue-Making Spec.?

Best Wishes

Rob Govier

Hi Rob

A lot of people do exactly as you have done when the break, and just push hem back on, the will last for quite a while even when severely perished.
I got my new ones from Citroen though, they were fairly cheap, and they had them in stock, im sure they were the same part for all xm models as well.

Good luck Dean

The pipe comes attached to the leak off fitting that is held onto the strut with a clamp, I can never get the metal clip supplied to fit, there is apparantly a special tool for it, I use cable ties instead.

The part is available from GSF, part No N43404, price £9.25 + vat

When I replaced mine a few years ago, and had done previously on a BX, I used a large jubilee clip to hold the new assembly to the strut. In between the clip and the assembly I used the old shaped piece of metal that slots in behind the face plate, widened its jaws a little and the jubilee clip fitted in perfectly.
