re supply to fan, I am sure that when I was testing for this, the engine had to be running before there is a voltage.

You're quite correct Dod, I learnt this at the time & forgot to post it up . Thanks.

My prob was a burnt red external connector to the heater fan unit. New crimp - sorted easy.
