Hello folks,

Does anyone have a particular preference for ignition leads for the 2.0i? I've noticed that GSF do a set (N92632), has anyone used them, are they much of a muchness, or is one particular brand better?

I have a set of replacement Bosch FR 78X plugs to go in at some point, so thought I might as well do the leads at the same time.

Any thoughts?

Cheers

Ciarán

Hi Ciaran

Unless you are tuning your engine to within an inch of its life you are no going to need or notice the difference made by top spec leads, Generally go for something reasonably good though (Bosch), i find cheap ones don't last very long, especially when they are taken off a few times.

Regards Dean

Ta Dean.

I'll see if I can pick up a Bosch set at GSF. Halfrauds wanted almost £27 for their generic own brand set, which probably wouldn't last a crack as you say.

I've been getting a little lumpy idling and stuttering on cold days of late, think I'll replace the plugs, leads, clean out the airways, valves etc, working along to the ignition amplifier which is another possibility that Derek mentioned.

Cheers smile.gif

Just bought one at Halfords for about £19 and due to my car dying it might go on here with new plugs. Everythign never used. You can have the reference if you want.
Don't think either that it is going to make a major difference.
