Yes. And they just get on with it.

I am sure that we would "get on with it" in the UK if our roads were not so crowded and cluttered with so many warning signs, telegraph poles, lamp standards and trees to run into if we swerve off the correct path. The sheer number of cars using the same road adds to the odds of collision too.
