Anyone got any experience/comments on this one, please?
Have just unpacked a pair of new spheres to fit and found that they are older than the ones I'm replacing!!! (Sept 04) They're also surface rusted around the bare threaded part which wouldn't do the system any favours if it had got in there.
Just wondering how much gas might have found it's way out in such a long period on the shelf.
Thanks for any help.

Hi Rodders,

Virtually none, the diaphragm does allow very slow diffusion through its membrane, but when off the car it's hard up against the steel shell of the sphere and that is impervious.

Have a look at this thread for some sphere pressure versus age measurements.

Thanks for the reassuring advice and apologies to those who have gone over old ground again for my benefit -- much appreciated. Have fitted most of them today anyway and will finish tomorrow. (Except accumulator pending arrival of different tool).
Should soon know whether they work or not, but it would seem that the general concensus is that all will be well and that makes me feel a whole lot better.
Still no reply from the supplier in response to an email asking for their take on this, but if it all works then I guess I don't have much to carp about.
Thanks again, guys,
