I think I'd prefer the smaller and neater as per the earlier proportions but will
explore any suggestions such a longer/narrower window wide one:

and for something slightly different in black:

Hi Andrew,

An excellent job you're doing on these - well done. I particularly like the last two (long and narrow) ones you've done. I've a few suggestions/comments:

Although I like many of the other designs too, these last two seem less cluttered and therefore clearer - and of course give much greater prominence to the url - which is the principle objective.

Of the two I prefer the one with the black background - it seems to give much greater impact.

I'm not too sure about cutting the roof off the cars (though I understand why you've done it). It seems to work OK cutting the wheels off - but less so with the roof.

If you're going to produce a long narrow version like this, can you please also incorporate your earlier idea of it being a 2-in-1 design where there's room to cut it in half if required, for example so you can just use the text part. (At present it seems there may not be enough space between the bumper and text).

Keep up the good work.

Roy

Cool Andrew.

Its been bugging me whether a pic is really needed, they will be stuck on XM's anyway.
Maybe on other publicity but not the sticker.

Now I've seen it I'm for the right hand side text only of the thin one with the black background. Its got the whole message.

regards

DrTim

It does depend what you're aiming for: first and foremost is obviously the
communication/message/proposition of the club and the url.

Without some, ANY image, at first/fleeting glimpse I feel it'd be a bit bland
and could even be an ad for a radio station, a health club or even a band of
pub singers...!

I totally accept a fellow Xm owner who's a non forum member will see
your car first and after comparing notes first wink.gif , his eye will be drawn by the
"Club-Xm" moniker which is why it IS soo important.

I just feel it'd be far better with the additional 'edge' of a distinctive image
making it eye catching - an onlooker will always be struck by an 'arresting'
image first before reading the copy - just look at any ad in today's Sunday
colour magazines.

All the best,
Andrew

I agree with Andrew, the picture immediatly tells you what the sticker is associated with, otherwise with a casual glance it could be anthing.

I really like that second thin black one I have to say. Only thing I'd maybe say was the possibility of varying the tag line. You could have 'The best XM site on the net', or something like 'XM tech advice, parts, chat, consuelling (ok maybe not that bit!). The only thing with 'long' words like 'enthusiasts' in a small font like that is it may fail to be read in a passing glance, but then again as you said Andrew, chances are a fellow XM owner would be checking out your car anyway.

Other than those, the simple wide, thin URL ones (about the size of the latest two you've produced) work very well, and are quite subtle, i.e the kind of thing you wouldn't mind putting at the top of the windscreen or rear window. I do think the 'split' sticker idea is a good thing to reduce costs too.

"The best Xm site on the net" suggests there are other Xm forums!! biggrin.gif biggrin.gif

Are there!? REALLY? wink.gif

The tagline is obviously important and thus far really I've just largely
incorporated the same initial message, whilst working out the general layout,
content and proportion.

Whether the "quirky, smart, addictive" tags are accepted or even viewed
as relevant is open to debate; I feel they're a 'reward' pay-off line to a viewer
who actually takes the trouble to look closer after 'getting'; the immediate first
message/name/url leaving them with a chuckle and something to think about!!

I like the contrast/impact of the latest black ones and it's worth remembering the
effect a variation of scale on the final sticker may have for any of these ideas
- some could be the entire width of the front/back window OR a 10" wide
strip as a rear tailgate sticker!! It almost does depend what the scale of the
screen you're viewing these on!!

Believe it or not, one other consideration I've made is the 'cheat' of concentrating
soley on the front end and lopping the top/roof off the picture to account for the fact
that there IS an ESTATE with just a big a following as the saloons!! biggrin.gif

I'll have a fresh look at the double 'A side'/2 for 1 options asap...

All the best,
Andrew

I agree with you Andrew about your comment about "The best XM site on the net".

I still like "The site for XM enthusiasts".

I agree, as far as I know this is the only dedicated XM site and I think should be advertised as such (unless someone knows different).l

What's the position now on the Club XM Sticker? It seems to have gone very quiet. Do we have a final design?

Err,

Sorry to be a boring old fart. The designs Andrew has put forward are indeed very innovative and very skillfull. I know I couldn't do it.

However!! rolleyes.gif Can I put another train of thought please?

I am of the view that simple is nice.

I thought about a basic sticker with the word Citroen written across it with the squigly XM overlaid over the top in a chrome effect and the web address written along the bottom in smaller writing. Yes?

Ok you can tell me to crawl back down my hole now! biggrin.gif

I too think that simple is best, however I think the emphasis should be on the Forum. My choice would be a main headline "Club XM Forum" with, below it in smaller letters "The site for Citroen XM enthusiasts" followed by the http// address.

I hate to set the cat among the pigeons but I do like the sound of Demags one, as well as the others we've talked about.
I'd like to think we could order some of each, but unfortunately quantity may be a problem. The initial figures I've had from people I enquired with about printing them, is that 250ish would be the minimum amount. In that light, I think we have some way to go to even build enough orders for that amount, let alone multiple strands.

Its a real pity, because personally, I just can't make my mind up and I want some of each! smile.gif

Unless someone knows of anybody that is willing to produce them in smaller numbers?

Hi all

I haven't actually asked about getting them printed yet, but as soon as i can i will see what the minimum number of stickers are, I was on The BX club site for the first time yesterday and saw the window sticker they have, looks quite good too, They have a merchandise section as well!

Almost what I suggested on 9th Dec, Derek, however I'd still prefer the url as the largest text.

However I was somewhat swung back to having a photo after reading some on the responses around that timeframe. Probably the one of the front upper quarter as that is
hatch/estate neutral.

Re costings we really need a price for the mimimum run as well as quantity.
