Hi,
Can anyone help me please? I've got a noisy electric radiator fan motor and have hit a snag removing the plastic fan. On the '95 model year cars the fan's retained by a simple screw (with a cunning reverse thread) but on this car ('96 model year) the motor shaft protrudes out through the centre of the fan by a few mm and appears simply to be held in place by a circlip. I've removed the circlip but can't persuade the fan to come off the shaft. From memory the fan is prevented from spinning on the shaft by a small split pin through it close to the motor body which locates in a slot at the base of the tubular centre part of the fan, but I thought it should just pull off. Has anyone done one of these? If so please put me out my misery! (Please don't tell me the split pin cuts a bayonet slit in the centre tube of the fan though.)
