Hi,
In another posting, Noz laments about the problems with electrovalves going wrong and causing knock on damage to the ECU. There is a lot of good detailed technical information on this board (including the factory manuals Noz has made available on cd) but it all seems to need a basic level of knowledge to use. For instance, when Noz says blown transistors in the electrovalves can cook the diodes in the ECU, this information can only really be used by someone who has a good working knowledge of electronics, plus has some idea of what an electrovalve does, and where the blasted thing is............. No disrespect at all to you Noz, all I'm suggesting is that someone could maybe put together the XM equivalent of `DOS for dummies'. Basic information specific to the XM, like `this is an electrovalve, this is what it should do, and this is how you test it'. I don't even know if this is realistic; is it posible to test an electrovalve in situ with a curcuit tester? My thoughts are that if someone made this kind of basic information available as a book (not NECESSARILY with pop up picturers), they just might sell enough copies to make the project viable. Just an idea........... Jim. |
