Hi all.
Had occasion yesterday to collect a gearbox, roundabout half a ton in weight. Turned up in the XM, much guffawing and p**s taking --- 'you'll not get it in a car'; if you can get it in, it'll squash it' etc. etc. Much silence as the XM swallowed the load, readjusted its height and ready for off. To be fair, they did admit to standing corrected. Came back at a pretty steady 70; average mpg 41.5. Not half bad when you think it was carrying the equivalent in weight of another small car in the back !! Absolutely no car to touch them for the mix of usefulness and comfort. Hi Onthecut
A steady 70 on any road around Brum is truly amazing. Regards XMexc -------------------- An interest in 2.5TD's.

Had taken a free V6 PRV engine in my hatch once, 4 shoulders needed to lift it in using a wooden bar with chains. Was much less than 500kg though, rather 200. G -------------------- XM '94 V6 12v, manual, Diravi - Mark "1.5" in black - bought: 138,000mls now: 167,000 miles
