My nearside hid lamp has started to randomly go dim then bright, quite noticeable driving home these evenings on the M25.

I suspect a dodgy connection, probably inside the headlamp assembly where the ballast gets it's supply where it joins the loom via spade connectors. I will investigate next time I can tinker in the light, possibly Saturday.

In the meantime has anyone else had this sort of problem?

Hi Bigjohnh

The only HID problem I have had is an occasional refusal of one of the lights to strike and come on. Happens if that car gets limited use. Tends to resolve itself if the lights are switched off and on again.

Regards

Hope you didn't buy a PILOT HID kit.

They have now stopped responding to my e-mails and I'm still without the ballast that I sent back for repair / replacement in August.

Their excuse is that it has got lost in the post, but my response to that has been ' can you send me another one then?'. I thought this was a reasonable request as the ballast was lost whilst still in their care. No reponses now for 2 months.

Moral - don't buy from www.PilotHID.com and don't believe the cr4p on their webpage about wonderful customer service mad.gif Rant over.

Oh... and yes my orther car has HID's and occasionally only strikes one - clears after a recycle of the light switch.
