was just looking at this xm,

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Citroen-XM-16v-I-I-S...1QQcmdZViewItem

and noticed the phone by the dash, bottom left pic

now excuse my xm ignorance

but is the phone one of the many xm toys or is it an aftermarket fixture

Aftermarket. Looks a bit like the old Nokia scrap that was in my S2 when I bought it.

Easily enough removed. Mind you, they could have picked a better place to mount it instead of drilling into a visible part of the dash side like that, but hey! smile.gif

Reminds me, must get round to removing that stupid aerial from the back window. I've removed everything else, but left the mic wiring in the headliner in place, might use it one day if I ever wire in a bluetooth set, but I doubt it TBH...

I've actually got a mid 80's museum item in a CX Gti Turbo2 which is a sight to behold.
Looks like something off the set for Dallas!!

The transmitter/battery pack sits in the boot the size of a breeze block - I actually thought
it was a CD multi-changer at first!! rolleyes.gif laugh.gif

May keep it fitted as it's a period feature and part of the car's patina!! tongue.gif

I used to have a Pye PMR in my car, like the ones in the police cars in Heartbeat, although theirs apparently work without aerials? When the cost of the PMR license exceeded the cost of a mobile phone I eventially surrendered my PMR license that I had held since 1966 - end of another era!
