I've just converted to mac and after a week I now will say. DON'T buy a pc.
The mac is great, it never argues or does silly things I haven't told it to like the pc so often does.
It just arrived, was plugged in and worked perfectly. It looks really nice as well.
Decent ones can be had second hand for reasonable money although new ones are pricey.
Make sure you have a go on one before you get into an unhappy relationship with a pc.

That's about how I feel about my new Mac, Elma! I switched about a month ago now.

I still support PCs at work though - off to do my weekly malware scan now...
