Hi, Having disassemmbled the light units completely it would seem unlikely the inner lens would be available singly or for that matter any of the innards. However the relector itself is a single piece casting incorporating the high beam reflector, the dipped beam relector is an independant unit held with 4 crosspoint screws removable after seperating the main reflector from the shell. it is held in place by the 2 adjuster theaded ball joints and a lower centre mounted ball & socket about which the reflector pivots for adjustment.A firm pull seperates the two. Once removed the cavity left by the dipped beam reflectors looks fit for grafting (bodge it and bashit)another after market light unit.Will be giving it ago soon.By the way the dipped beam reflector is not silvered on its upper or lower surfaces, only on the parabolic section. Wonder why that is?

I have one newer light unit that definitely is brighter. I was considering replacing the other one or perhaps just the glass which seems a little yellow.

I dont think it's the glass that goes yellow but the plastic lens inside the dipped headlamp.

Just out of interest, would it be possible to clean the plastic lens with an abrasive like Brasso or Solvol or is the yellowing an internal chemical thing like a degrading of the plastic?

Unfortunatly not, the plastic discolours right through. The lenses I took out of my car don't look to bad, although the increase in light output without them is quite substantial, my sons headlamps however look quite orange when he is following me.
