Carprep, Rehill.

They have been a Cit/Pug specialist for many, many years. Great mechanics and know their way around Cits like the back of their hands. Rates are reasonable and they don't try and do you over by doing things that don't need doing in my experience.

They are a bit out of the way - on a farm up a track near Redhill airstrip - just noticed there is a map on their website. Tel 01737 779900. Website: CarPrep

Cheers,
Rowan.

He didn't tell me the exact figure ,it was about £850 incl a new water pump, followers and lifters.

Sorry for the delay been messing with the Corvette.

You think that's expensive, when my head gasket went 18 months ago i was very busy at work and didn't really have time to do it myself so i phoned around and had a quote for £1300 from some joker, bearing in mind its only an 8v petrol engine ohmy.gif .
After i finished choking i decided to make time to do it my self, as you could probably imagine

Makes my tribulations earlier this year with the same job seem worthwhile after all !!
In possible mitigation to the guys that did the job it would be interesting to see the parts/labour breakdown on the bill. Followers and lifters don't come cheap if bought new and could well account for nearly half of the total even if only 4 of each were fitted.
At least it's one that didn't go the way of so many these days ........

I've got to say we were perfectly happy with the price and the job done, the car's back on the road and going great. The guy at the garage was pleased with the outcome and was impressed by the cars remarkable condition.
