Hi all.
Problem is, unless you have the kit to pressure test them on reassembly, you can't really be sure they are correctly set. Agreed, if you simply have a duff nozzle, which you replace, you will still be better off, even reassembling them 'as is'. There will be an opening pressure to be set and a leak off delay to measure, properly speaking. Mike. -------------------- XM 2.5VSX Estate RP 7185

a few years ago i got mine refurbed at a place near guildford. £20 odd for each. Took them in one day picked them up the next. They pressure test them and check the pattern then correct them - his comment at the time was he couldnt beleive the engine even fired the spray was so weak. It made a noticable difference to the economy and probably the power also.
the fourth injector (with the sensor) he left as is saying its too expensive to do anything with (£100+). -------------------- 2.5td Exclusive - Emerald green of course

Ok, it sounds like it would be better to take them off and get them refurbished. Can anyone give me contact no's, addresses. I can have it off the road for I do have other transport.
What about a makeshift tool to undo them without any damage? shoestring -------------------- 2001 51 Plate Citroen C5 Estate 2.2 Hdi

Hi Shoestring.
I think a 27mm deep socket is the ticket. I'd be wary of anything makeshift as they can be pretty tight. Incidentally, I always find them easier if the engine is warm. Any decent diesel place should be able to do them for you. If not, I'll happily pop them into the place I use, if you happen to pass through Brum at all. Hi Shoestring
For a 2.5TD you need a 22mm not a 27mm socket and it is best to use a very deep box spanner for the injector with the electrical lead/plug or deep socket with a slot down the side. I think Draper supply the slotted sockets for about £7. Regards XMexc -------------------- An interest in 2.5TD's.
