Think their no claims bonus may be at risk with this one:

Car:
1992 Citroen XM

Description:
While driving out of a parking lot, the brakes failed and the car got caught on someone's balcony.

Location:
Ankara, Turkey

New method for getting better access to the rear centre sphere?
Or was it a scene edited out of Ronin or a Bond film?

Lucky the car's as long as it is!!

Hi Andrew,

Congratulations - that's a classic!

Damn lucky it got caught on the balcony by the look of it. I bet they couldn't do that a second time!

I wonder what went through the drivers head when he realised where he was.

You should send it in to the Citroenian (Citroen Car Club magazine). They've been running a series of caption competitions recently and this would take some beating.

Cheers

Roy

What's the betting the REAL reason for this calamity was the autobox selector digits
on the dash not showing D or R and he unwittingly accelerated out of the space...

backwards!! rolleyes.gif

He'd look a real numpty telling everyone that, but blame the car instead as it's a Citroen,
and nobody would ask awkward questions!

Wonder if it's a V6!!
It's got colour coded mirrors/scuttle trim and black door strips!? huh.gif

Andrew

Andrew,

They dont particually look colour coded to me.. or is it my eyes..?

Its not got any ID badges on the wings either

Nope, just stuided the picture hard and the mouldings are defenatly NOT colour coded.. Look carefully at the side pic, theres a bit of sun brightness and its clearly shows it the "Grey" type mouldings..

Looking good... though you might want to fit a new sump when you buy it Charlie laugh.gif

I saw this a few years back on that site and went to post it to XM-L at the time, but realised they don't allow attachments and then just plain forgot about it, good to see it resurface biggrin.gif

I wonder what went through the drivers head when he realised where he was.

Indeed! Good thing for the driver that the boot hatch got partially opened by the impact - I imagine it must have been the only safe exit available? Can you imagine how gingerly they must have crept across the backs of the seats?

Wonder if the residents of the flat came home to find a stranger on their balcony waiting to be let in?
