Hi these days when i turn off the ignition key on my mk1estate 2.0si there is a groaning noise that takes some time to go away however if i just turn the ignition back on there is a slight movement in the car noise goes away and stays away any ideas

Sounds like fluid going through the pipes, returning to the reservoir. The fact that its accompanied by a slight height change would suggest this anyway.
