The bloody Fiat wouldn't start tonight when I came out of work! Got three of the lads to push me round the carpark. I'm hoping it's dirty battery lugs cos it ran as sweet as a nut all the way home with plenty of lights and power. Its been spinning over easily since we bought it so I was surprised as hell when it wouldn't go.
When I got home I stopped the engine and the ignition and oil lights were really bright. It wouldn't start though and everything went dull. I'll check in the morning. -------------------- Dave.

The battery could be on the point of complete failure, lasting for the run home with alternator supply, but virtually no capacity for the starter drain. Or the starter motor could be seized, of course.

Yes it was the battery techman. 10 volts, sudden death. Put a new one on this morning £27 can't grumble.
