Hi All

Doh, Doh, Doh. I left one of my set of keys in a trouser pocket and the plip went through a 30degrees synthetic cycle (it's important to be accurate about these things!) and now it's not working. Although interesting my Honda key and datastick were fine.

So anyone got are resurrection tips or can anyone tell me how much a replacement will cost from Citroen. Also does anyone do after market replacements.

Cheers

Tony

Take the battery out, take it to bits as much as you can without damaging it, probably just take the battery cover off will do, Rinse in a bowl of CLEAN water.

Put it in the airing cupboard for a couple of days. PRAY to whatever deity you chose to believe in. Put a brand new battery in it and hey presto, about 50:50 chance of it working.

Best of luck

John

PS the longer the better in the airing cupboard, you need to get water out of some prettey small spaces like the button and any electrolytic capacitors.

Otherwise a replacement plip was £70-£80 from Citroen when I got one a few years ago. That was a S2 radio one. You have to give them the number from inside the case (or on the reciever) to match it. Doesn't include the blade, but did include the push rivit thing to fix the old blade in.

Not sure about the price of IR ones.

Hi all

Xm's aren't meant to be this easy. Popped in a couple of new batteries and all was fine, actually much better than before!

Cheers
