having just sorted my rear suspensoin, ive got a noisy tappet ,are they hydraulic lifters or bucket ans shim,????? its a twin cam engine also its my first petrol XM,???? terry unsure.gif

Terry,

According to the manual for the XU10J4R engine they are hydraulic so no adjustment should be necessary.

As an easy first try I think I'd try a flushing oil and then new oil and a filter. You never know it might jus be a bit of dirt in the tappet breather stopping the oil getting in.

Otherwise its a camshaft out job to get at the tappets.
