Hi guys, I cross posted this to XM-L too, so apologies if any of you have seen it already, but I just wanted to gather as many opinions of CCTV stuff as possible:

---
Afternoon folks.

Well, sorry for the OT post, but I know a few of you (Lez?) have your
own CCTV for your cars / driveway.
I've been having a real problem with the kids in the street constantly
battering my cars with footballs, trampling my garden plants, throwing
things at the house etc, and their parents don't want to know, as
their little angels (they're teenagers) wouldn't do something like
that, and I'm just a 'bully', a moron who needs to get a life etc,
apparently.

Anyway, with attitudes like that, its no surprise where the kids get
the total lack of respect for other people's property from. As I've
drawn a blank getting them to take responsibility for their little
shit's actions, the next step is to just get the cops involved
everytime it happens, maybe they'll tire of seeing them at their door
rather than me. Obviously to do that, I need proof of whats been going
on, so I'd like to get one of those inexpensive CCTV systems to
monitor the cars and driveway.

If anyone has any experience of these, I'd appreciate hearing about
it. Not looking for anything too elaborate, just a decent, clear
picture. Sound would be a bonus too actually...

Any thoughts appreciated.

Cheers

Ciarán

Hi Ciaran

I havn't personally used one although I used to do some CCTV work but that was with semi proffessional stuff. There are some very cheap camera's and systems about, try looking on Ebay, its an amazing source of information.

One advantage of living out in the sticks, we are about 1/4 mile off the end of a very narrow lane which in turn is about three miles from the main road, Even the census people missed us one year!

Funny Peter, I was just showing the girlfriend the pictures of your ramps that you posted the other day, and I said "Well that'd be one advantage of living in the country, plenty of space to do stuff like this!", and now of course, another would be that there are no kids running riot while their parents turn a blind eye!

I'm starting to sound like Victor Meldrew I know, but I do have a kid myself so know what they're like.

I'll have a peek on Ebay shortly, cheers smile.gif
