Hi Les
Sorry that your car has been nicked. Hope it turns up not to far away and undamaged. So few XM's have the 3 headlight a side mods that most of us should notice it if we see the front. Might be worth putting a more prominent post in the introduction section so that we all see it and it will stay as a top item for much longer. I am sure that Noz wont mind, if he does blame me for suggesting it. Regards XMexc -------------------- An interest in 2.5TD's.

I REALLY hope it turns up Lez, but from my bitter personal experience it wont be seen again.
Unfortunately, with the price of steel being so high thanks to our 'friends' insatiable appetite for it in China, ANYTHING that's not bolted down or hidden behind closed door/lock & key will already be shredded chards of metal on the next boat out. It's not just the Pikeys that are bad for this now, any Jack the Lad with a Hiab/skip lorry or low loader is taking EVERYTHING, even taxed or not... Fingers crossed fr you though. Andrew |

Will put the word out down here with all our Citroen contacts. Do you have the chassis number? No one here has ever known of an XM being stolen before!
steel is currently about £100 per ton - it's crippling our business because we simply don't have the heart to scrap perfectly good, beautiful cars. The only reason my BX wasn't "tayk'n dahhn tha frag' " is because it's PLASTIC! I urge you all to get our bits and bobs if you need them while you can before we simply have to frag it all. We have XMs for re-homing... I hope your car goes all Knightrider on the **** that stole it and one morning you wake up and there it is, home again! I know it sounds crazy but I'm convinced cars have souls or something. They know when somebody hates them, or when you love them. Maybe they don't know how to use the parking brake and live on a hill. -------------------- S reg 1999 2.1 Turbo SE Auto, Burgundy; 64,000 miles.

Oh dear..I fear your humour..or, quite frankly, lack of it, is wasted on this forum.

Me too! Lez - the humour IS a bit obliqué!!
I'd guess none of us like watching the news on the weekend as it'll get us all depressed on our days off work!! Now, IF the car in London had been an Xm... Andrew |

I can't agree, but then humour, like art is in the eye of the beholder(or reader in this case) I think Lez would take it as it was intended. Chaucun a son goût as the French put it. -------------------- Xantia 2 litre HDi Saloon X reg 1999

Obviously Lez lives somewhere where the volume of water inflow greatly exceeded the capabilities of the system supporting outflows. Hence his XM acquired additional hydraulic properties and was last seen somewhere north of Iceland?
A little bit tricky for those of us not in the immediate vicinity to analyse This post has been edited by UFO on July 02, 2007 05:10 am -------------------- Craig Keller

Poor taste or not, it was funny when you eventually saw the joke and Lez had a lot of us going for a while.

Sp, jokes aside, has anyone had an XM knicked? Its lack of nickability is one of its plus points for me, even the dealer said "noone will bother with that" when he disconnected the immobiliser rather than fault find it on my old one after it cut out going round a corner, and that was when car crime was worse than it is now.
MedwayCitroesn, I'm doing my best to keep my old one running too! People been telling me to scrap it all year (not here though:)). A friend accussued me of being less green due to having 2 cars, but I reckon it is less green to scrap perfectly functional cars. -------------------- XM 2.0i Prestiege (Red) 1992 K reg RP 5692 (deceased)

Hi Dr Tim
Only the owner has difficulty breaking into an XM as no one else minds the broken glass or locks ripped out the door. Once in the thief like the owner may well have difficulty starting it but will never work out how to get the handbrake off to drive away. Regards XMexc -------------------- An interest in 2.5TD's.
