It seems some of you guys are getting too much water in one place at one time at present. I hope you are all doing as well as you can and no major injury or damage has occurred to you or your families.

There are a few in eastern Victoria who are also rather wet at present too.

Chin up all of you. dry.gif

Thanks for your concern. We are OK down here in the southwest, we live at 500' ASL, so if we get flooded the rest of the area will be in dead trouble! The midlands and north are having a bit of a rough time, with more rain forcast for tommorrow. Havn't seen any XMs in the water on the news so far! Hope all our members are keeping dry.

Just keep an eye out for a bloke herding animals into a big ship two by two. If you see him near you move to higher ground! laugh.gif

Yes we've had it a bit rough up here. We are officially in a flood zone as the River Tame is 100 yards away at the end of the road (this river once had the distinction of being the dirtiest river in Europe! Although I think they've cleaned it up now).

Some years before we moved here they built the banks up by 5 feet or so to keep it from flooding. Driving along there a week ago it was as high as I've ever seen it within 2 feet of the top and just scraping under the bridge at the main road. I was below water level as I drove along side! To give some idea of the rise, the water is usually 10-15 feet below the built up banks. Falling in would have almost certainly meant loss of life. It's been nowhere near that level since. Although there was a very impressive picture of a tornado over the Shropshire countryside on the front of the local paper that night.
