As far as I can tell Citroen never produced XM's with heated washer jets. Does anybody know of heated jets that will fit of another model.

Hi Assich,
They certainly did. I have htem on both my 2.5TD VSX's. I know they also had them on the V6. I'm not sure about other models though. Cheers noz -------------------- '10 '59' C5 2.0 HDi Exclusive Tourer Metallic Grey

Thanks for that. I couldn't see them anywhere on the Citroen electrical digrams I have and I can't see any wires through the panel gaps but it's not that easy being where they are. I will have a closer look and upgrade if necessary.

Hi all,
I've got them too. Question is - does anyone think they work? They're supposed to be "on" when the heated rear screen is switched on as far as I recall. From my own experience - they aren't very effective - if in fact mine work at all! The other major problem they suffer from is clogging up something chronic. I've now fitted an in-line filter but haven't got around to clearing the jets thoroughly (or replacing them). Anyone thinking of buying replacements from Citroen had better take a large brandy and an oxygen cylinder with them by the way! I've never taken the time to check it out properly - just thought I'd ask you all since the topic's been raised. Roy -------------------- '98 'R' XM 2.5 TD Exclusive Saloon RP 7200 Magenta

i think i checked mine a while ago whilst parked - by turning them on and feeling them after a couple of minutes. not scientific but i'm sure they were hotter.
whether the heat has ever de-iced them is another question. i'm sure they have helped but then again the pipe leading up to them probably freezes as well. also i find the control a bit useless. the heater screen only stays on for a short time so whilst driving in winter if you suddenly get a screen full of muck, chances are the washers are not heated. typical Citroen at least. -------------------- 2.5td Exclusive - Emerald green of course

Mine certainly work. I can be driving along and find they are frozen. Turn on the heated screen and 30 seconds later the washers work fine.

Easy fix - look for ebay seller 'stormwipers'. I converted my old xantia to pug 405 washer blades however the easier option is to fit these wipers that he sells as they have triple washer jets built-in to the frames. Took me all of 20 mins to fit them and now I get full screen washing at 80 mph on the motorway. & say goodbye to frozen jets by buying industrial IPA and making your own screenwash - it's heck of a lot cheaper than shop screenwash and NEVER freezes!! ....and yes, prior to this I was that idiot who spent an hour playing with a pin in my washer jets trying to get them squirting properly onto the screen...as soon as you get them about right another bit of muck comes along and blocks one jet and screws up all the others...argghh! fit some storm wipers and it's all a distant memory. -------------------- '99 'V' XM 2.0 CT VSX Auto Estate RP 8360 Green.

Hi Wirdy, Thanks for that - I'll go have a look. The only IPA I know is Indian Pale Ale - industrial strength or not - it won't be going in the screen wash bottle.
I could have sworn that was me you know. If you broke the pin in the nozzle when you were at it - then it definitely was me! Thanks again Roy -------------------- '98 'R' XM 2.5 TD Exclusive Saloon RP 7200 Magenta

You may jest....me and all the people I knew in germany used 'Wolfschmidt' vodka as screenwash - it was half the price! (DM2.50 per litre bottle - about 80p at the time). -------------------- '99 'V' XM 2.0 CT VSX Auto Estate RP 8360 Green.

Interestingly the Citroen wiring diagram shows the heaters wired up to the same power supply as goes to the front windscreen wiper motor rather than connected to the heated rear window and door mirrors circuit. According to the diagram this wire is live once the ignition is turned on and thus the jets will be heated all the time. Surely this isn't right?
