Well, as noone else has replied yet...

Uf you mean the black box type thing its in with the radio in my S1 car. Need to take out radio and "shelf" to access.

Havn't had to find out yet on the S2 one :-). I notice yours is S2,

Thanks for that, I will have a look there next. On my last Mk2 the only box in there was the airbag control unit attached to the "tunnel" floor. I am convinced that the alarm unit was sitting beside the remote locking eciever under the glovebox in my last Mk2 but it didn't have a passanger airbag like this one.

ok assich I am interested in any conclusions as I now have a S2 car with passenger airbag and the alarm has been exhibiting occasional strange behaviour :-)

I had a significant chunk of the dash apart today trying to find a suitable way through the bulkhead for the wires for the control panel for the lpg kit I am fitting and while in there I found the alarm control unit.

It is on the right hand side behind the removable panel below the passenger air bag. Black box with both a brown and a white connector.

Assich, did you manage to find a suitable place for the wires to go through the bulkhead? May have to embark on a spot of that soon myself....

Cheers.

Ciarán

There's a large rubber grommet that can be accessed behind the LHM tank, I've used it to run 4 AWG wire for my amp in the boot and there's still loads of room. The hardest bit is making a hole in it without pushing it out, I used a long 'terminal' driver followed by a tapered reamer on the end of a long ratchet extension.

Steve.

Thanks Steve, must give that a look, I presume its easier with the tank out of the way first?

Cheers

Yes, that's where I took my cables through and did take the LHM tank off. I drilled it but too small and when I pulled the guide coat hanger wire through with the cables attached the grommet pulled into the car. With the glovebox out it was easy to get the grommet of the wire. I drilled it larger and fed the wires through before putting back in place. With a spray of silicon grease it popped in easy as anything.
