It was such a lovely day today I opened the sunroof. It was a good job I didn't have to leave the car anywhere because try as I might it refused to shut again mad.gif .

After I finished running around (you know, drop the wife off, pick her up, drop her off, pick her up etc etc etc.) I got a few tools and dropped the switch panel. I took the switch out and stripped it. Well all I can say is the bloke who designed this needs it surgically implanting up his rear orifice! I have never seen such an over engineered piece of crap masquerading as a switch before! I know Citroen have this flair for designing avante garde cars but come on. It's a switch for Gods sake. I want to see big contacts and beefy springs. Instead I see two miniature dumpbells rolling up and down the side of four copper strips and four tiny springs supposedly maintaining the pressure on the contacts.

I work with French machinery every day and it really is low end stuff, badly designed, badly built with software that doesn't work. I honestly thought Citroen were above that stuff but this switch takes the biscuit, it is awful! I cleaned all the contacts and the little dumpbells and at least it's working now. We have to be thankful for small mercy's rolleyes.gif

While it was in bits I cleaned the little temperature detector fan as well. So I will see how that goes as well.
