I'm sure this has been asked many times before, but I'll ask again anyway!
How does one get to the dashboard lights on a series 2 Xm? The one specifically is the light behind the led that tells you what gear your auto is in. I know it's not a big deal, not having it light up, but it's annoying me. However, it's not annoying so much that i want to spend 5 hours upside-down with my a**e out of the drivers window, removing all the skin from my knuckles! So, is it worth my while trying to get to it, and if so, how do I go about it? -------------------- 95 M 2.1 sx turbo diesel auto. RP 6639 Near Derby. And Euro Car Care have been good to me.

You can get the front dash panel off with the steering wheel still in position, when you have found all the screws, but it takes a bit of 'persuasion' to come past everything. Best done on a warm day when the plastic is softer. You can then quite easily remove the instrument cluster and change all the illumination bulbs while its out. The Haynes manual is fairly helpful.

Hey Mike I lived in Erdington many moons ago just off Goosemoor Lane and my sister still lives in Perry Barr and my brother by the pool at the back of George Road. I'll have to pop over and see you when I've finished the bathroom, son's car, garden etc etc!!

Mike- I used to live in Yardley, having grew up on "The 'Wood"
I now live distressingly near to that factory on the edge of Derby where they make boring Japanese cars- and some of my friends actually work there!!! But thankfully, most of them have the sense not to drive the crud they build! Thanks for the tips about the dashboard- I've lost my Haynes manual, so I must get another, but with this type of info- who needs it??!! -------------------- 95 M 2.1 sx turbo diesel auto.
