Interior Lights Staying On| Zaphod |

I have a problem with my interior lights. When I lock the car, they fade out but after a while they fade back on and stay on! While driving they do stay off however.

Hi Stewart
Sounds like you have the notorious bad earth problem with the indicator fault, check the earth connections to the rear lights. The interior light function is controlled be a module under the dashboard on the drivers side, if my memory serves me correctly. The easiest way to check it is to try another one. It has several inputs including one from the ignition and another from the door switches, could be you have a faulty door switch. Do they all put the light on/off when you open/close the doors? Which unit controls the lights? and is it th same on an S1 compard to an S2? (I ahve a set of boxes from under the drivers side of an S2)

'Cant remember' and ' dont know' is the short answer, but if you unplug them one at a time, when the light goes out - that's the one. I will have a look for the old one from mine later on, and if I can find it, will describe it to you.
