Hi all,
I recently got hold of an electric armrest from an S2 XM. I had to remove the whole middle console at the time, as it didn't seem possible to remove the mechanism only -too big-. On closer inspection, it still seems that the mechanism is too large to go out in anyway, even if I separate the actual box-lid from the mechanism (4 bolts hold them together). Is that right? Do I have to swap entire middle consoles if I want to have this gimmick in my XM? regards George -------------------- XM '94 V6 12v, manual, Diravi - Mark "1.5" in black - bought: 138,000mls now: 167,000 miles

Hi Geogre
You will find that the electric arm rest centre console has an extra rubber flap surround compared to the static one. I have never fitted one in a car that I did not want to change the console so never tried to fit the motor frame through the console opening. hehe -my car is totally black inside as per photo, and the donor is greyish I think, so there's no way it'll go in unless I can separate the mechanism-. Anyway, at least it could be of use to someone else with an S2 XM (instead of being scrapped).

Jorgy,
Electric arm rest will fit - just! I fitted an S2 electric rest into a S1 1990 V6 when I had my first one, and wired it up successfully .. Worked perfectly fine! It was however quite a fiddle to do if i remember correctly Good luck regards citroenxm -------------------- 1993 K Reg 3.0 V6 12 Valve Auto (Green) LPG S1.5 SORNd

Hi George
The arm rest lids are easy to swap. They hinge on 2 push fit pins. Regards XMexc -------------------- An interest in 2.5TD's.
