Hi all, has anyone figured out how to separate the base of the seat frame from the backrest frame without having to remove the backrest covering ?
If so, please... do tell Cheers, Colin.P -------------------- Colin.P.

Hi Colin
As I recall from bitter experience on my 2.1TD the seat base has a couple of spring clips at the front which clip over a tube. After undoing these clips the base simply lifts out. Heated seats or seats with other options may be a bit more complicated I suppose. I say bitter experiece because a small spill of ordinary brake fluid (ethoxylated castor oil, not LHM) from a leaky container on the passenger seat resulted in my wife getting an angry red rash all over her nether regions!. A thorough shampooing sorted things out (for the car seat, not my wifes!) Ken -------------------- 97R XM 2.1 TD VSX Saloon, RP 7249, Emerald Green

Ahh the benefits of "easy wipe" leather seats, my wife's just an angry redhead
Back to business, I have removed the seat squab but I want to separate the two halves of the seat frame if possible. Thanks for making me chuckle though Colin.P This post has been edited by colinxm on November 08, 2008 08:52 am -------------------- Colin.P.

Hi Colin
Have a stripped frame put away somewhere, kept because it had the punch outs for the lumbar adjuster. Will look it out. As I remember it looked hard work separating the base from the back so I have never bothered to try. John -------------------- An interest in 2.5TD's.
