Hi everyone.

Only me again! rolleyes.gif

Whats that saying, XM electrical issues are like buses? As in you wait to fix one and another few come along!

Anyway, I believe my passenger front central locking motor has gone tits-up.com.
I went to give my friend a lift earlier, and found she couldn't open the passenger door, I had to do it from the inside. I didn't think anything else of it, but then later on when I got out and tried to lock the car with the plip, it started doing the lock-unlock thing, with the indicators flashing rapidly each time.

It seems, that the passenger door motor is dead. I've checked the wiring at the door pillar and it seems ok. Indeed, if I lock the passenger door with the key, the central locking does activate, just that door motor will not move under it's own power. If I leave the internal pin in the locked position, its possible to lock and deadlock the rest of the car normally with the remote.

So, I'm thinking dead motor? Anyone concur?

Cheers smile.gif

Ciarán.

Hi Ciaran,

Can't fault your diagnosis. There should be plenty spare motors around on the forum if you ask. They're no too bad to replace although the door card and the waterproof covrs on the inner door skn both have to come off for access. Two screws hold the motor in.

cheers

Hi Noz,

Thanks for your input.

Glad its probably not something more elaborate then! smile.gif

I'll have a look for a motor. Need to open that door anyway to lube the window guides, as that window is quite slow to close...

So just two screws hold the motor in? That does surprise me, it can't be that easy surely?

Cheers.

Ciarán.
