Hi all.
Noticed as SWMBO drove off, both RH brake lamps not playing. Cheesed off as only replaced all bulbs a few weeks ago. Being a smart whatsit, I presumed there must be a separate fuse for them, as the odds of both going otherwise seem very long. Check the book -- nope, just the one fuse. Then had bright idea of trying the LH bulbholder on the RH side -- bingo ! The problem turns out to be a duff connection developed on the relevant bulbholder pin. Solved it by moving the plug down to the duplicate socket. Will fuss about trailer socket wiring at a later date. I'm a bit bemused though as to why the fault should have developed at all. The car is bone dry; I don't think the plug has been on and off too often. Can only think that if the female and male bit are dissimilar metals, there must have been some electrolytic corrosion. Come back Prince of Darkness, all is forgiven --- brass spades and connectors !! Mike. -------------------- XM 2.5VSX Estate RP 7185
