Hi
the best thing about this site from others you can put you 2 pennies worth in without being a member !!!

It is a good thing I think as poster`s can get good info from others that dont want to be a member streight away.

I love the forum upto date and will become a member very soon rolleyes.gif

its nice to be able to just come on here without the pressure of having to be a member to reply or ask questions like the other forums do

I take it is a fairly new forum ??
Well it seem to be doing ok to me keep up the good work

ttfn all

You'd be made very welcome as a member or not. One of the single bigegst benefits is that if you join or start a thread then you get an e-mail if someone replies. You don't get any other e-mails unllike a mailing list like XM-L. Don't get me wrong, XM-L is great due to the large member database and the active posting. However, the e-mail based software is dire and not nearly as user friendly as, say, this forum's software.

Chris Light who started and owns this forum has done a great job and thanks must go to him for his generosity in hosting it on his server. As always the forum is only as good as it's contributors. It has had a slow start but is picking up now. Forums need critical mass to be succesful where the numbers of posts posted are the attraction in itself.

Any comments on the forum are welcomed. If you see the need for an additional section or disagree with the layout and have other ideas. Fire away. Nothing is set in stone.

I any case, welcome to the mad house !!

Cheers

Ditto NOZ ( Sorry to hear about the demise of a pair of 2.5s)

This site always seems to feel like more of a friendly database instaed of flying off at tangents like XM-L. Although tangents can be fun, it can be annoying when trying to find a problems solution via its daft search system.

The only improvement here would be a troubleshooting section where we can post quick easy instructions to solve the more well known problems. eg the headlight relays. This can either be a 2hr job working blind witha multi meter or 30 secs when you know where the problem lies.

Everyone would need to be able to edit the trouble shooting section so that the solutions can be fine tuned.

Just an idea

Mark

Mark,

I'm not the most experienced with forum software but I'll have a go at the troubleshooting section. I'll need some guidance though.

The advantage of the thread based system is that all of the discussion concerning a particular topic are nicely packaged up rather than laid out sequentially as and when the posts are made. I've got nothing against bulletin boards. Before software like this they were the only thing that was available. Forums probably wouldn't be where they are now if BB's hadn't paved the way. It's just that things move on and we don't need to put up with an antique system if there's something much more user friendly available.

cheers

Hi Lee

Head light relay.

Open bonnet, rest your hands on the bonnet slam, under your right hand are two or three hidden relays. Remove clean or replace and away you go.
CL
Not sure someone will know

Good luck
