If you are happy to pay even more of your hard earned cash to the chancellor so that it gets efficiently wasted in their skilful hands, let the government know where you are at what time of the day and establish profiles of you, let your insurance agent and other company mine your personal data then do just nothing. If you think that this is seriously offending and resticting your personal liberty then sign the petition on the #10 Downing Street page NOW!

http://petitions.pm.gov.uk/traveltax/

Oh yes, you can justify anything the government wants to do to screw the motorist on environmental and safety reasons!

Enough is finally enough! Make your voice heard! What nees to happen to people until they finally switch of the TV and get out on the streets? Make Democracy work for YOU!

Apologies if you consider this posting is inappropriate here but people must finally act!

Just in case you thought your plea had fallen on deaf ears. I signed and passed the word on to a lot of other people and they signed as well.

I'm with you mate!

The figure talked about around here is £1.30/mile. I travel 12 miles/day to and from work. Grand total of 60 miles/week X £1.30= £78.

That will effectively put me off the road. That is the same as a small mortgage.

And that is only commuting mileage. I can do 200 miles some weekends.

Mind you one good thing is the government won't have to repair the roads, there'll be no bugger driving on them!! dry.gif

Norrie, you could always start a forum for Honda 50's!! biggrin.gif biggrin.gif

Yep, we're in the swansong of mass public PERSONAL transport where soon only
the rich will enjoy the privilage...

Looks as if "they're" just pricing us all off the road to eke out the reserves of oil for
the forseeable future for themselves.

interesting to see a backlash against the so called **green** tax levied this month
on air flight - apparently it wasn't passed through debate in Parliment and is seen
as illegal...

I've signed every petition going on those links - now I'm going to be earmarked
as a real trouble maker.

Andrew

You and another few million Andrew. I'm sure Blair wants to go out with a bang. I don't really think he wanted to go anywhere. I think his hand was forced by pressure from the Brown squad. So I think he's going to stir up as much crap as possible for the takeover so that Brown can stew for a while.

Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned.............. or a politician with a knife in his back. The problem is, whatever the outcome the ordinary working bloke will suffer.

Hi Demag and All

Us OAP's will be alright, after a bit of specialist lobbying later on they will let us have free mileage after 09.30 to go with our bus passes.
In reality it will only pass the house of commons if all MP's can make themselves exempt as it will also allow the Tax man amongst others to check mileage claims against personal and business mileage. Now applied across the nation that could bring a few higher up the ladder down a few rungs.

Regards

XMexc
