Hi All

Interesting line of thought particularly as my first V6 had a lazy starter and sometimes refused to do anything at all but the V6 I am using now is spot on, quick just like the 2.5's away with the first turn of the key. It has got to 130k and I do not think there is a new starter in the history. I will put my money on fans running incorrectly in long term as causing most of the V6 starter problems.
Thinking back now I seem to remember not being happy that the fans ran correctly on the first V6. Should have sold it to citroen xm when he asked to buy it last summer.

Regards

XMexc

Here is a picture of the engine bay on my dads old V6 24v.

The plugs are very easily located on the top of the engine.

the oil filter is easily located from underneath the car. Servicing took me around about 30 mins to do an oil change with filters, air filter and plugs.

David.

Hi David,

would you object to my posting your picture onto the FrenchCarForum
as a reference pic for the 'know your Citroen engine" thread?

Nice idea - needs to be bigger and finer detailed with it's mesh for the 24v though!!

It's just me David!

I missed the bleeding obvious fact that the scuttle trim IS BODY COLOURED it being on a 24v
and all that!! laugh.gif Maybe, I haven't been under the bonnet of mine for a while, and have
forgotten what it actually looks like - is that a good or a bad thing... wink.gif

my dad bought the car when it was 2 years old, and there was no Citroen sticker on the lid then.

The battery from that car is in mine at the moment! Saved me buying a new one. And that car aint going anywhere quickly, so it made sense at the time.

If you drive it normally with a slightly heavy right foot it will give you 25mpg.

If you drive it with a lead right foot it will return high teens to low 20's to the gallon.

If you drive it with a feather on the right foot if will give around about 28mpg.
