Can anyone help me with a wiring diagram covering the 1998 2.5TD suspension system?

Hi Brian,
Look for page 580-2/21f in the manual. It covers RP 7483 - 7847 which includes your car at 7760. Let me know if you don't have it and I'll post it here. Cheers noz -------------------- '10 '59' C5 2.0 HDi Exclusive Tourer Metallic Grey

I have wiring diagram 580-2/20g on my computer but not /f. The relevant part to my possible problem is, of course, relevant to loom SB which was the subject of the change between the two diagrams. Do you have that for copying to me, please, Noz?

Hi techman,
Go to page 280-2/21g and then progress a page at a time until you get to 1459 of 1868. You'll find page 580-2/21f there. Its not indexed so you have to navigate manually. Either use the scroll button on your mouse or the page down button on your keyboard. If that doesn't work give me a shout and I'll post the couple of pages you need. Can anybody give me a believeable explanation as to why the cables for the suspension elctrovalves which were quite thick (yellow and blue) on my 1995 2.5 are so much thinner on my 1998 2.5 (green and yellow/green) ? I presume the current-cayying need for the electrovalves is still the same? Is this a cost-cutting exercise or has there been a change in specification of the electrovalve, perhaps? I am intrigued! -------------------- Xantia 2 litre HDi Saloon X reg 1999

Hi Techman,
I had always wondered about this but from the opposite end. I always wondered why the cables were so thick. There's no way they were needed at that thickness for their DC current-carrying capacity. I just wondered if it had something to do with impedance. Although the circuit is DC and technically therefore there should be no impedance (only resistance) the DC is being pulsed at a frequency (forgotten the frequency) so I wondered if 2 x Pi x f x C or 1 / ( 2 x Pi x f x L) had anything to do with it. Maybe our electronic friends can cast some light? cheers noz ps What's the actual issue with the wiring? I wanted to know which wires to bridge with a diode - if necessary - if the rear suspension hardened like my last XM did.
