I'm just home from my girl friends house, after exchaning presents and the usual......

anyway....

on the way home, a car comes right up behind me, refuses to pass, whenever i move over, so does he, when i slow down, so does he, he did this for about 3 miles.

After how close he was to my bumper i decided that it couldnt be the police, as i was in the XM and not my 306, i decided to floor it.

Leaving the car behind me for dead, then as i was turning off the motorway into our village he catches me up and as he was going round the round about i noticed it was a Silver 51 plate Astra with Lexarse lights and 5 kids in it. As i'm turning off, i think nothing else of it, UNTIL....

A f*cking litre glass bottle of vodka explodes on the road in front of my car

Luckily it missed my pride n joy, all i could smell was vodka, so guessing it got wet rather then damamged!

I managed to get half the number plate, so i rang the police incase they did it to someone else further along the motorway going into the next village or something.

But WHY!?!?

There was completely no need for it! Could of been a shit end to a great day!

Anyway.....

Rant Over!

David.

It must be the time of year David - idiots!

I had similar last boxing day, two young asians in a mercedes E series right up my ar$e whilst I overtook a lorry on the A1, then they got impatient when I stayed out to pass another lorry. They undertook me, just missing the lorry and cutting me up, only to then slam his brakes on in front of me.

There was absolutely no provocation or malice.

Good job the Xantia is built strong as I didn't brake at all and rammed his nice mercedes. Needless to say, it was quite satisfying to see both their heads whack the headrests!

Moral - don't mess around with a £800 Xantia driven by an ex- banger racer. The car is disposable & We know how hard we can ram another car and retain control. smile.gif

Yes hope you did some decent damage to it (the Merc not the Xantia).

Lets face it, it happens all the time now with these dick'eads. The standard of driving is apalling in this country.

I could recall a dozen instances when its happened recently. Its just a daily occurence now.

Too much money, no brains (them not us!) wacko.gif

Still have the Mercedes blue paint on my Xantia bumper - sort of a war trophy that I've never felt the need to T-cut off.

I've often thought back that I should have kept my foot down; there's nothing scarer than being 'pushed' along at speed tongue.gif It's disconcerting enough on a banger track as someone does it to you into a corner!!

BTW - the mercedes & I both pulled over but the driver got very upset when I wrote his reg number down and after a frank exchange of views he cleared off sharpish. I suspect he wasn't insured or licenced or similar.

Just hope it stopped him from doing the same to someone else & perhaps he had to explain to the owner of the car how it recieved a new big crack in the rear bumper. wink.gif

David,

Hopefully the police will catch up with them, when the driver has speared himself on the steering column, taking his arsewipe mates with him. We will have photos of the 'tragedy' on the front of the News of the World, chavvy girlfriend and snot-dribbling one-year old laying cheap wreaths at the site; wittering how Darren was such a careful driver, how Chantelle will never know her 'daddy' (or the other four likely candidates who snuffed it with him......)

These people are utter cretins and are the sort who seem to get away with murder. I drive a huge mileage in the course of work and see numerous examples of yobbish behaviour each week. I am truly saddened at the decline in standards both on and off the road.

Wirdy, Next time you are in Watford I'll buy you a beer; fair play on the Merc, I've often considered such a course of action but regrettably have not had the 'bottle'.
Well done fella!

Regards

Loopy

Most of these people just dont care what they do, they have about as much regard for their lives as they do other peoples.

Many moons age whilst driving my HGV - I was in a one-way street with a wagon un-loading in the right hand lane so everyone was slowly moving over. I was sitting over the white line with the left hand indicator going and everyone was following suit. Enter our hero!
He decided he wasn't going to queue with the rest of the prolls and tried to squeeze up alongside me. Oooops! Big mistake. I give ground when on the bike or the car if the kids are with me but NEVER in the wagon if I am in the right. Result....................?
He had a nice impression of the wheel nuts in his wheel arch! And the funny thing was that he must have been moving at exactly my speed as all of the nuts had only left 1 hole! He jumped out but backed off a bit when me and my mate jumped out as well. He then stared bleating about it being his Dad's car who would kill him when he saw the damage. He went away with a word about not trying to squeeze wagon's again. Never heard another word about it either! laugh.gif
