Hi all
I blew an offside headlamp bulb a couple of months ago, then the nearside one went last month and today I blew the same bulb and the sidelight bulb. This is getting close to the total number of bulbs I have replaced in my entire 25 year motoring life!Have I just been unlucky or is there an underlying problem? Before you ask I was careful not to touch the headlamp bulb with my fingers! ph34r.gif
Any help gratefully received as always.
Regards Rob

Hi Bob

The relativly simple answer to the problem is to check the voltage across the battery with the engine running, it should be 14 volts plus or minus very little, try reving the engine and see if it changes, if its OK as I suspect it will be, the problem is either down to coincidence or mechanical shock to the lamps concerned. If its much over 14v, you have a duff alternator.

Hi Rob

Logic suggests that it must be because you followed the handling instructions to the letter.
