I really like my S2 (when its not spewing oil everywhere
As my existing boot spoiler is cracked, I've been thinking about getting an S1 replacement for it. Has anyone ever transplanted these? If so, whats involved? Would I have to drill holes etc, or are the existing S2 spoiler's mount points the same? Any thoughts much appreciated! Cheers. Ciarán. -------------------- '95 XM 2.1TD VSX Hatch: RP 6429. Hi Ciaran
I seem to recall that they both use the same mounting holes on the boot lid. I kept the Mk1 spoiler from my first XM and have a loose Mk2 boot lid. If I can find the spoiler I will check and let you know. Regards XMexc -------------------- An interest in 2.5TD's.

Hi xmexclusive,
Thanks, I'd really appreciate that if you have the time. This isn't urgent as I will probably not be doing anything with it until after Christmas, but it would be handy to know nonetheles. Many thanks Ciarán. -------------------- '95 XM 2.1TD VSX Hatch: RP 6429. Rare green ;-)

Hi Ciaran
Not good news I am afraid. In looking out Mk1 bumper bits this evening I found the silver Mk1 spoiler. Then I took the spoiler off the spare Mk2 boot lid. The Mk2 spoiler fixes differently with 8 holes in the bumper, a row of 4 for plastic plugs and 4 for fixing screws. All different positions from the 4 studs on the Mk1. It seemed from a quick check that you could leave the Mk2 spoiler insitu and drill holes and fit the Mk1 spoiler as well as they both fit in different positions. The other alterative is to fit a Mk1 boot lid to your Mk2. If you want to experiment then the boot lid I used to check is going to scrap when I have stripped it and I have no plans for the Mk1 spoiler. Hello again.
Damn.... I knew it couldn't be that easy! (Well, this is an Xm we're talking about, should have known Thanks very much for taking the time to check that Xmexc, really appreciate it. That being the case, I may look for a spoiler and possibly get a bodywork place to fit it - The bottom of my boot requires a bit of paintwork anyway, so it seems an ideal time. Unfortunatly bodywork really isn't my strong point, so I'd rather someone who knew what they were doing handled it, especially if its going to involve drilling and filling holes etc. Thanks for the offer of the boot lid, but I'll probably have to leave it as I have no easy way of collecting it from you, I do appreciate the thought though. Aha well! Knew there had to be a catch Cheers. Ciarán. -------------------- '95 XM 2.1TD VSX Hatch: RP 6429. Rare green ;-)
