Hi,
Has anyone had problems with the dim-dip on early S1 cars? My headlamps sometimes remain on dim-dip and sometimes go (correctly) to regular dipped headlamps when the switch is operated; the relays click when the switch is rotated from town-lights to headlights. However it seems to make no difference whether the switch is operated with engine running or not; the main beam works correctly. Does anyone know where the dim-dip unit is fitted? Or is there something else I should look at? Regards Loopy This post has been edited by Loopy on October 22, 2006 08:03 pm -------------------- 1991 2.0 Si Auto.

Though I have never had one myself, I believe that there is a relay for the dim-dip mounted on the front curve of the driver's side inner wing. Try swapping it with any one of the relays along the underside of the top radiator panel on the passengers side. If it works, get a replacement for the dim-dip one you took off.
