While I spend time in the phone queue of my electricity provider here some perhaps useful info.
Remove instrument cluster, unhook speedo cable. Disconnect from lower speedo cable near bulkhead in engine compartment. Attach line to speedo cable from inside. Pull out rubber ball first then complete speedo cable from engine bay side. Pull through new cable by attaching new one to line. Now it helps (a little) to have the glove box removed and remove the heater duct there out of place to guide that cable into the right direction. You need small hands. Once the cable is visible at the instrument side use a bit of Fairy liquid and water mixture to pop in rubber ball into the grommet. Once in place connect everything as required. Hi Michael,
I have a SEi turbo which has a broken upper speedo cable, the replacment cable has a large rubber bulkhead seal which cannot be pulled from the engine side, also the asb block with its four pipes is just above it making it very difficult to work on so i tried to pull it out the other way into the cabin, it moved a little before it jammed it looks like i need to remove the glove box to see what the problem is, What is the procedure for removing the glove box? the Hayes book of jokes didn't have a word to say on the matter and any help would be most appreciated.
