Hi All
I had to do this on one of the 2.5's and took a few photos. Oh sod I have just seen the file size limits and I think the individual photos exceed this. Still lets see how we get on. Regards XMexc -------------------- An interest in 2.5TD's.

Hi XMexec,
The file size limitation serves two purposes: Doesn't needlessly overload the server Encourages people to reduce the size (used disk space) of photos You can see by some of mine that if the photo 'size' is reduced you get a lot of photos for your 1 meg. When I take a photo it is usually about 500k for a 1024x768. I then import into a graphics package and use the optimiser to reduce the file size. The file usually ends up being between 20k and 80k in size depending on the dark/white ratio (white takes less space to store than black). By constructing the document in Word first then using Acrobat to pdf it reduces the file size even further. Hope this helps. Hi Noz and All
That seems to have worked. Computers are more difficult than XM's as far as I am concerned. Regards XMexc -------------------- An interest in 2.5TD's.

Hi XMexc,
Not wishing to appear in any way shape or form a pessimist, all I got was a blank piece of paper. Did anyone else get a document with some words or pictures? Cheers noz -------------------- '10 '59' C5 2.0 HDi Exclusive Tourer Metallic Grey

Why can I manage to down load the file if Noz gets nothing? Can some one else please let me know how they get on with this file, particularly if it is bad news regards XMexc -------------------- An interest in 2.5TD's.

Hi, All
Thanks very much for the confirmation that you could view the file Rosspa. I thought I was never going to crack it. Yes I too could not understand why everybody had a down on 2.5 fuel heaters. I was running 3 of them and never saw a sign of a problem, first turn of the key every time. That was until I started parking the one with the highest mileage (135k) on funny slopes. Over about 2 months it got progressively worse until it would not start at all. As it was blocking the others in and I was not going to try to push it out of the way it did the deed including photos in less than 15 mins. Regards XMexc -------------------- An interest in 2.5TD's.

Hi all
I am glad the site is running again.I went to France last week with the car showing early signs of a porous fuel heater!!When stone cold you have to turn it over a couple of times until the fuel gets back through, and on start up a lot of grey smoke! At the moment it only does it in the morning, but in time and as it gets colder!!!!! Unfortunately the pictures are missing from the file now,but I think I can work it out.It is different from when I did it on the 2.1 as you could see where both pipes went into and out of the heater.I will leave it until I am back from France again next week!I have clocked up 9K in 11 weeks! Sounds more like the heater plugs are defunct - or the supply to them. See if you have any ciurrent going to them first.

Hi Rob
I seem to recall that the Citroen owners book says that a diesel should start ok in warm weather without needing the heaters. What happens when you restart with the engine hot? If it goes on the first turn of the key then suspect the glow plugs supply. If starting is difficult with a hot engine then suspect fuel supply problems. Will try to look out a set of the heater mod pictures for you. Sorry about the fuel economy, Any record of the injectors being cleaned in the service history? Regards XMexc -------------------- An interest in 2.5TD's.
