Xmexclusive,

I'd be very interested in a S1 scuttle trim in black; mine has a piece missing under the bonnet, the corner of the drivers side, over the drain hole. Maybe snapped off to clear the ton-and-a-half of pine-needles out that seem to have accumulated in the trough.

I was planning on removing the trim to clear out the cr*p from the nearside and it would be nice to replace the damaged trim when I do.

How much are you looking for, and would it be ok to collect? Oh,and if so, where are you?

Thanks

Loopy

Hi Loopy

Located in Winchester, collection ok, email me to arrange. Which side trim are you looking for as I think it was 3 black ones and I only sorted out the Mk1 ones to possibly canablise the fixing clips to repair a Maroon set of MK2's.

Regards

Hi XmExc,

It's the whole trim that runs across the car beneath the screen, above the bonnet and terminates between the mirrors; are we talking about the same part? Mine has a triangle of plastic missing, snapped off by the looks of it, on the bit thats under the bonnet. I think it's made of ABS and mine has a satin-black finish which looks original. I've not looked too closely at how it comes to bits but it looks like a single moulding, could be wrong though...

There's a few other bits I'd buy if you have them to spare; Do you have a rear bumper insert in ok-ish condition? That's the only other piece of exterior trim that has the 'tut' factor at the moment, it's a bit crumbly and lets the rest of the car down! I recall reading you don't have light units, I would also buy just a n/s headlamp lens too if you have a spare; mine had a bullet hole in it which I've epoxied to prevent water ingress but its dried opaque, so could do with replacing; Oh, And a set of standard wheeltrims too. I'll stop now or will end up needing a Transit van rather than the Mondeo!

Fortuitously I'm going to be in Dorset/Hants midweek, probably tuesday and wednesday, I'll be staying overnight courtesy of the company either Southampton or Portsmouth area so will be not a million miles from you.

I'll e-mail you monday evening once everything is confirmed at work, to arrange a visit to you.

Best Regards

Loopy

If xmexec, cant help with headlight glass (I'm sure he may well be able to though) I can, as I'm breaking a S1 car.. Rear bumper still intact, will check out the condition of rear insert for you.

As for Suspension ECU, this car strangly had a H2 computer on it not a H1!!!

Not sure of the benifits however, but it lifted well, however, the suspension was rockhard, it had been stood for about 4 years though..

I'll check the scuttle trim, incase xmexec cant help there either, but again no doubt he can.. Good man he is, lovley man with a good stock!

Thanks citroenxm; I've just got back from one of my all-too-frequent trips away for work; I've mailed XMExc and just waiting for a reply; I'll PM you once I hear back from him, where are you located? I'll try and combine some work with the trip if it's possible!

I'm planning on treating my wife to a new spray-gun (just a nice little gravity-fed one, funny thing is, I just happen to have a couple of bits of paintwork to do; weird co-incidence that.....On reflection I think if I was to give her a deVilbiss all gift-wrapped I would be the first bloke to bludgeoned to death with one. She'll just have to make do with the socket set and PS3 I've bought her for crimble.

Hi loopy

Yes I have found a good Mk1 scuttle trim in black, will stick it somewhere safe at the back of the unit. I guess with a bit of arm twisting I could find a headlight glass and the bumper trim.

Hi XMExc,

Thanks very much; I'll be down your way sometime this coming week, passing through on the way to Weymouth; Got a job come up and the child-bride and I are going to have another night away on the firm; just been looking at hotels in the area on the www and I've found a nice one.

If I could get the stuff in the XM I'd take it instead of the firms Mondeo and arrive in a mellow state instead of stressed and grumpy....God I hate that car! It's only three years old but with just under 100k tis a wee bit tired. I don't suppose the MD will get me a nice C4 Estate as it seems to be Mondeo or Primera currently, and of the two I think the Ford is slightly less bad. Spoilt aren't I?

I'm not sure what day I'm travelling yet, either tuesday or wednesday seems likely and I'll know on monday; will mail you then.

Thank for digging the stuff out; will bring my Acme arm-twister re the trim and lens tongue.gif

Speak to you on monday,

Loopy

DUH!

You are correct, I was thinking C5; It was a bit of a heavy day at work!!!

I'm in Hertfordshire, near Watford; we are planning on moving further away from London during 2007 having been here five years; Ideally somewhere with no residents parking restrictions and where a triple garage is about 3/6 a week tongue.gif

If memory serves me correctly you are north Wales, or am I way off the mark?

One of our branches is in Chester and I pop up there occasionally. A rather beautiful part of the UK.

Regards

Loopy
