@ Noz,
Hope I'm not stepping on anyones toes here, As a new boy round here I was wondering if forum users have ever arranged meetings/run-outs or get-togethers; I appreciate that the prime reason for the Club XM forum is to exchange information but would happily find venues and so forth if any users fancy meeting up. I was involved in showing my assorted old cars in the past (mainly '50's Vauxhalls, Cresta, Victor etc. and one of my neighbours (who has a Consul convertible) was salivating over the XM and invited me to a show in it! From the show perspective the XM is an interesting car, and I'd do the leg-work involved in getting stands and pitches. As far as club meetings go, would anyone out there be interested in a meet/run in the Herts/Beds/Bucks area ? Regards Loopy -------------------- 1991 2.0 Si Auto.

Hi Loopy
I am in Middx and don't mind meeting up for a chat about XM's...or I can write what I know about them on a postage stamp and send that to you instead!I have asked XMexecutive (Winchester) and Peter N (Dorset)about meeting up but we didn't get very far.Don't get me wrong I do enjoy my XM but I don't think it is a classic-merely a developement of a theme,if I took it to the Classic car night at the Ace Cafe in London they would not let me in and if they did they would laugh at me.Mind you having said that there was a Triumph Acclaim there once and they let that in!There was a Citroen SM there in September, when the owner opened the bonnet and was explaining what everything did, there were many similarities to the XM which is what I was trying to say earlier. Let me know where you are and maybe we can meet up.Not too keen on a run as I have done 13K in mine in the last 4 months...mind you 2 XM's together is a rare sight!! Regards Rob PS XMexec are you OK as you haven't posted for a few days?I would hate to think the shed has collapsed and you are trapped under XM nosecones/wings without anyone enquiring!!! -------------------- 1958 BMW Isetta 300 RHD with SMITHS SELECTROSHIFT

Hi all,
The Forum is a great place for non formal exchanging of info/ideas and general chatting. But for organising shows and formal meetings I think that the Citroen car club do a great job and I see no point in the Forum being involved in the same field and causeing the sort of horrible sort of rivalry that you can get when there are two clubs for the same model. I think the forum does what it does great and if you enjoy showing you car pay the £30 odd and join the citroen car club. |
