Hey guys...

i have a big problem, the main supply pipe from my hydraulic pump down to the flow divider at the front burst on my 24v XM on Friday night.

When i last ordered one of these for my last black V6 it took 3 weeks to come from France, and i need this one urgently as my other car is off the road for maintenance work at the moment aswell.

its this pipe here (marked by the arrow) and leads down to inside the yellow circle at the bottom of the engine bay.

The pipe had burst just about the flow divider at the bottom of the engine bay, the other night when i started it to see the leak, it was blowing it right up to the height of the front rocker cover.

So far all i can think of doing is loading it onto dads trailer and taking it to a couple of the citroen specialists in Glasgow and seeing if anyone can cut it and remake the end on the pipe.

Any other suggestions??

(Apologies for the state of the car in the pic, it had been sitting for years unmoved)

Thanks guys.

David.

Hi David,

What diameter is your burst pipe? 3.5mm, 4.5mm or 6mm? or bigger?
What length is the burst pipe?

Depending on the answers to the above I might be able to make you up a new pipe.

Please let me know if that would be of any use to you.

Cheers

noz

Hi. David.

If Noz is unable to help, I would suggest your next best bet is to get the complete pipe off and try your local hydraulic hose specialists (the folks who make up hoses for JCBs and that sort of kit) If they can match or adapt the ends, the piping won't be any trouble at all. Good luck with it.

Mike.

Noz,

mine is a 6mm pipe, overall length i am not sure of, but it is about 3 feet, it has all sorts of fancy bends on it, but even one to "make do" until i can get the right one would be awesome!!

its a steel pipe that has a flare about 1/2 an inch in from the end of the pipe.

Thanks.

David.

Noz,

My local citroen chap is looking to see if he can source a new one quicker.

my main problem is that i am stuck at home with this pipe as my other cars off the road for repairs at the moment aswell.

Can i let you know if i need it later on?

Many thanks for the offer.

Cheers

David.
